AHCA’s programs record Austin’s stories, honor the people who preserve them and support the Austin History Center.
Oral History
Oral histories are one of AHCA’s most important annual projects. Each year we record video interviews with 15 to 30 citizens, then transcribe them. The recordings and transcripts go to the Austin History Center for historians, researchers and authors.

Angelina Eberly Gala
AHCA’s annual fundraiser, named for the woman who helped save Austin as the capital of Texas. Sponsorships and tickets fund AHCA’s programs, preservation work and advocacy.

Fuller Circle
Named for Stephen Fuller Austin, Fuller Circle is a ticketed event series featuring Texas authors, artists and storytellers.

Katherine Drake Hart Award
First given in 1991, the Katherine Drake Hart History Preservation Award honors people who preserve Austin’s history.

Campus Expansion
The 1933 building at 9th and Guadalupe could no longer hold the History Center’s growing archives, so the City of Austin expanded the AHC into the neighboring John Henry Faulk Building, which reopened in December 2025.
