Doors at 7 PM/ Program begins at 8:20 PM Don’t miss this incredible night of creative storytelling featuring leading Austin-based architects, designers, musicians, writers, and artists at the Austin History Center, the local history archive of the Austin Public Library. PechaKucha, which roughly translates to “chit-chat” in Japanese, is a creative speaking event that originated in Tokyo in 2003. The unique format, a kind of speed-dating version of a TED Talk, invites 10 guest speakers to each develop a presentation on a creative topic within the strict parameters of 20 slides and 20 seconds per slide. The slides are set on a timer out of the control of the presenters, so the cumulative effect of 10 short presentations, just over six minutes each, leads to a fast and furious evening of entertainment and creative inspiration. The Lineup:
  1. Jennifer Chenoweth (AHC Manager)
  2. Stephanie and Ryan Lemmo (Architects)
  3. Michael Barnes (Historian)
  4. Ian Searcy (Magazine Designer)
  5. Will van Overbeek (Photographer)B R E A K
  6. Emily Schexnayder (Entrepreneur)
  7. Alan Lazarus (Vespaio Founder)
  8. Angelique Ferrao (Painter)
  9. Jim Franklin (Poster Artist)
  10. Miles Zuniga (Musician)
