A trailblazing journalist and public relations expert, Roxanne was the first African American editorial writer at the Austin American-Statesman. She is a key advocate for preserving Austin’s Black history and cultural heritage.

J. FOTINI MARGOSParalegal & Writer
A fifth-generation Austinite, Fotini has a background in legal operations and historical fiction writing. Her expertise in research and storytelling enhances AHCA’s archival and educational efforts.

ROSEMARY MORROWEducator
A longtime social studies educator and historical consultant, Rosemary has worked with AISD, the Texas Education Agency, and UT Austin. She serves on the Travis County Historical Commission and advises on historical preservation projects.

JOE PACHECOFinance Expert
A native Austinite with a career in IT and finance, Joe played a pivotal role in modernizing the State Bar of Texas. He brings strategic financial insight to AHCA’s preservation efforts.

DAN PERRYLBJ Foundation
With a background in fundraising and university advancement, Dan has led multimillion-dollar campaigns for Texas State University and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. He brings critical development expertise to AHCA’s growth.

RUTHANN RUSHINGOral History Expert
A passionate historian and native Austinite, Ruthann revitalized AHCA’s Oral History Program, capturing invaluable firsthand accounts of Austin’s past. Her leadership ensures these stories are preserved for future generations.

A lifelong educator and activist, Barbara has worked to preserve Austin’s historically Black schools and cultural institutions. She continues to champion educational and historical initiatives in the community.

Hannah Terrell, Interim Director of Austin Public Library, brings a deep commitment to preserving and sharing history through public archives. A former branch leader in Charlotte, she now oversees Austin’s library system, ensuring access to historical collections and community resources. As an honorary AHCA board member, she supports efforts to safeguard Austin’s rich past for future generations.

JENNIFER CHENOWETHAHC Division Manager
Jennifer Chenoweth is the Division Manager of the Austin History Center, where she leads efforts to preserve and share the city’s diverse history. Previously, she directed the Oakwood Cemetery Chapel restoration project, using public art and storytelling to honor Austin’s past. An accomplished visual artist and founder of Fisterra Studio, she brings a unique creative perspective to AHCA’s mission of documenting and celebrating the city’s cultural heritage.
