The Austin History Center Association (AHCA) is honored to announce that on March 15, 2024, we received a $5,000 grant from The Summerlee Foundation to support the development of our Vision Plan. This generous contribution will play a pivotal role in guiding the future of AHCA as we strive to preserve and share Austin’s rich and diverse history.
Founded in 1988 by Dallas philanthropist Annie Lee Roberts, The Summerlee Foundation is dedicated to alleviating fear, pain, and suffering of animals and to researching, promoting, and documenting all facets of Texas history. The foundation has a long-standing commitment to supporting projects that enhance the understanding and preservation of Texas’s unique heritage.
The Vision Plan funded by this grant will enable AHCA to outline strategic initiatives aimed at expanding our archival collections, enhancing public programs, and increasing community engagement. By developing a comprehensive roadmap, we aim to ensure that Austin’s history is accessible and engaging for all residents and visitors.
